LAW ENFORCEMENT DISTRICT

PARISH OF BEAUREGARD

STATE OF LOUISIANA

On Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10:00 A.M., in the office of the Sheriff, Beauregard Parish Courthouse Annex, Deridder, Louisiana, a meeting of the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Beauregard, State of Louisiana, was called to order after having complied with all legal prerequisites for notice of a Special meeting.

Members of the public body present at said meeting were as follows: Mark Herford, Sheriff and Chief Executive Officer; Sara Franks, Civil Office Manager; and Sarah Martinez, Tax Administrator.

The substance of matter discussed was as follows: Sheriff Herford, acting in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer, announced that the purpose of the public meeting was to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2023 meeting and to consider and take action with respect to giving notice regarding adopting a resolution on January 4, 2024, ordering and calling a special election to be held in the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Beauregard, State of Louisiana to authorize the renewal of a sales and use tax.

The minutes from the June 6, 2023 meeting were approved as read.

After discussion, Sheriff Herford announced that notice is hereby given that at its meeting to be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, 120 S. Stewart Street, DeRidder, Louisiana, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff plans to consider adopting a resolution ordering and calling an election to be held in the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Beauregard, State of Louisiana to authorize the renewal of a sales and use tax therein. A public comment period was held after the discussion regarding the announcement. No members of the public were present to comment.

With no other business to consider, the meeting was adjourned by Sheriff Herford.
