Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP)
Purpose: OHSEP is to provide guidance for the Beauregard Parish government, and municipalities where applicable, and all other agencies with an emergency assignment before, during, and following any declared emergency. The OHSEP sets forth a detailed program for preparation, response, and recovery to disasters as provided by Parish, State, and Federal statutes as well as other related or applicable emergency authorities or directives.
Mission: In time of emergency the mission of the Office of Homeland Security-Emergency Preparedness is:
- To plan and prepare practicable response for the protection of life and property in the event of disasters.
- To take immediate action to direct, mobilize, coordinate, and determine utilization of local resources during disaster operations.
- To coordinate and direct restoration and recovery operation in the disaster area.
